RCCG Pastor Dies After Collapsing While Preaching

In a separate incident, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Glorious People Assembly, Aleto, in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, has died after reportedly collapsing while preaching at a funeral service.

The pastor, identified as Deacon Steve Eyo, was reportedly delivering a sermon during the funeral of a female member of his church when he suddenly collapsed.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Friday and shocked mourners who had gathered for the burial.

Eyo was reportedly taken to a nearby medical facility using an ambulance that had been hired to convey the remains of the deceased woman whose funeral was taking place.

He was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

Pastor Collapses During Sermon

Reports said Eyo had been preaching about the certainty of death and encouraging those present to live with the awareness that life could end at any time.

He reportedly began his sermon at about 1:10 p.m. and collapsed approximately 15 minutes later while bringing the message to an end.

The incident occurred at a funeral service in Aleto, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The death of the pastor reportedly left members of the congregation and mourners shocked, particularly because he had been speaking about mortality shortly before his collapse.

The two incidents have drawn attention to separate medical emergencies involving a passenger on an international flight and a clergyman at a funeral service.
