Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has revealed that Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), ordained him as a pastor many years ago.
Anuku made the revelation during an interview with the Honest Bunch Podcast published by Glitch Africa Studios on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The veteran actor said that although many people are unaware of his involvement in Christian ministry, he has a pastoral background and remains a pastor.
Hanks Anuku Says Adeboye Ordained Him
During the interview, Anuku said Pastor Adeboye conferred the pastoral title on him when he was younger.
The actor challenged anyone who doubts his claim to seek confirmation directly from the RCCG leader.
According to Anuku, his pastoral journey was influenced by his love for God and what he described as divine direction.
He said his faith played a major role in his decision to pursue ministry, adding that he believed God directed him toward that path.
“Pastor Adeboye conferred me as a pastor when I was young then, I am a pastor but people don’t know I am a pastor.”
Anuku further urged those questioning his claim to ask Pastor Adeboye for confirmation.
Actor Studied Theology at Redemption Camp
The Nollywood star also disclosed that he underwent ministry training and studied theology at Redemption Camp while he was living in Lagos.
Anuku said his wife was still alive at the time he was ordained as a pastor.
He described his relationship with God as an important part of his life and said his decision to pursue ministry was motivated by his love for God.
“I just loved God,” he said, explaining that he believed God’s power was greater than his own and that he was directed toward ministry.
The actor added that prayer and faith had remained important to his life.
Hanks Anuku’s Lesser-Known Ministry Background
Anuku is widely known for his roles in Nollywood productions, particularly his portrayal of villainous and tough characters.
His latest revelation, however, highlights a lesser-known part of his personal history involving Christian ministry.
According to the actor’s account, his involvement in ministry dates back to his younger years and included theological training at Redemption Camp.
Anuku’s comments have drawn attention because his public image has largely been associated with his long career in the Nigerian film industry rather than pastoral work.
While recounting his experience, the actor maintained that he is still a pastor and reiterated that Pastor Adeboye could confirm his claim.
His disclosure has therefore renewed interest in the veteran actor’s life away from the cameras and his reported connection to the RCCG and Christian ministry.
