Nigeria’s Voter Register Rises to 103.4 Million

INEC said the updated national voter register now contains 103,428,715 registered voters.

The latest figure follows the completion of the three-phase Continuous Voter Registration exercise as well as the commission’s final biometric verification and clean-up of the register.

The updated register provides the latest indication of the number of Nigerians registered to participate in the 2027 general elections.

The distribution of registered voters across the states also highlights the significant differences in voter populations between Nigeria’s various regions.

PVC Collection to Begin October 9

INEC has also announced arrangements for the collection of newly produced Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

According to the commission, newly produced PVCs will be available for nationwide collection from October 9, 2026.

INEC will also display the updated voter register for public scrutiny between October 9 and October 15, 2026.

The display period will give voters an opportunity to verify their registration details and identify possible errors or irregularities ahead of the 2027 elections.

With the national voter register now standing at more than 103 million registered voters, INEC is moving into another phase of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
