According to a report by Fox News, on Tuesday June 9, 2026, Fox News contributor and Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen strongly defended the Trump administration’s heavy military campaign against Iran, describing the operations as one of the most courageous decisions any president has made in my lifetime while warning against any potential diplomatic deal that offers financial relief to the regime.
Thiessen detailed the immense scale of the joint U.S. and Israeli operations, specifically naming Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury.
According to Thiessen, the combined air and missile campaigns have completely shifted the geopolitical balance of power in the region, crippling both Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its conventional military infrastructure.
Thiessen highlighted the specific, devastating impact of the multi-week aerial bombardment, framing the actions as unprecedented in modern presidential history.
“Operation Epic Fury saw 13,500 strikes plus 8,000 Israeli strikes destroyed 82% of their defense industrial base, sunk their entire navy, grounded their entire air force, decimated their ballistic missile both their fleet and their production,” Thiessen stated.
He emphasized that the long-term strategic gains achieved by the administration must be aggressively protected, arguing that the strikes dismantled capabilities that would take the Iranian regime decades to replace.
“These are decisions no other president would have made, and no president after will make to do to repeat. Which is why it’s so important that we do not lose the gains that Donald Trump has made,” he said.
