“President Tinubu went and appointed somebody who is a lawyer. Unfortunately, he’s a lawyer like me and he did not want a bad name,” Amaechi said during the SYMFONI TV interview.
Many Nigerians listening felt the weight of his words, especially as he compared today’s system to the 2015 era of Attahiru Jega. He expressed sadness that many citizens are losing hope in the system due to the rising cost of living and the way elections are handled. For many at the venue, the message was clear: if things don’t change, the trust between the people and the government might break completely.
