Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and former chairman of the national human rights commission has voiced his displeasure over the comments of president Tinubu. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that the president exhibited pride by comparing himself to former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Many were left stunned after president Tinubu made a striking comment regarding the actions of former president Muhammadu Buhari during a political rally in the federal capital territory, Abuja.
According to the president, the former president Muhammadu Buhari had done excellently and he was pleased to take over from him and continue his policies.
His comments, which triggered massive public reactions, caught the attention of Chidi Odinkalu, a renowned human rights activist and lawyer who in a recent statement, lamented over his assertions.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he pointed out that by publicly declaring that he took over from former president Muhammadu Buhari, president Tinubu admitted to have committed atrocities against the people.
He further pointed out that the president had deviated from the renewed hope he promised the people, especially those in Adara community of Kaduna State who witnessed horror during the administration of former president Muhammadu Buhari, and was yet to get justice.
Violence, disobedience to rule of law and insecurity, according to the former national human rights commission boss, marred the administration of the former administration.
