Victor Osimhen has offered a balanced response when asked to choose between football icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, avoiding picking one over the other in the long-running debate, according to Daily Post.
The Galatasaray striker was asked the question during an interview, where he was also drawn into comparisons involving rising stars Lamine Yamal and Michael Olise.
Rather than selecting a preferred player, Osimhen emphasized respect for both Messi and Ronaldo, highlighting their impact on football over the past two decades. He noted that both players have shaped the modern era of the sport through their consistency, records, and individual achievements at the highest level.
Osimhen stated that it is difficult to separate such exceptional talents, stressing that both deserve recognition for what they have contributed to football globally. His comments reflect a preference for appreciating elite players without creating direct comparisons.
The Nigerian international also drew a parallel between the Messi–Ronaldo debate and the comparison between Yamal and Olise, again refusing to choose one over the other. He described both young players as unique in their own way, pointing out their individual qualities and styles of play.
Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami CF, and Ronaldo, who represents Al-Nassr, continue to be influential figures in world football despite being in the later stages of their careers.
