Hon. Godson Odiniya, father of BBNaija Season 8 winner Ilebaye Odiniya, has shared more details about the ongoing tension between him and his daughter.
Naija News reports that in an alleged voice note released by the father, he said the situation changed after she won the reality show, explaining that she became less open to advice and started keeping different company.
He said, “I told her to give a public appreciation to those who supported us till she won BBN but she refused,” adding that their supporters also became less active after that.
He also said he tried to guide her on how she manages money and lifestyle choices, but she often did not listen. According to him, “Each time I talk to her she will insult me,” and this made it harder for him to reach her in a calm way.
The father claimed he warned her about cosmetic surgery and lifestyle changes, saying she had body enhancement procedures at a young age. He added that their communication became tense because she felt he was always correcting her.
Odiniya also narrated a physical disagreement, saying it happened during an argument. He said, “I decided to sit her down and talk to her because she is disappointing me too much,” and alleged that she reacted aggressively during the encounter, leading to injuries on his head.
He further claimed that he had tried to encourage her to invest in something meaningful that could help others, but she preferred spending freely. “The way she spends money… I told her several times let us have a place that you can develop,” he said.
In another allegation, he said she influenced her younger brother in a negative way, which he believes affected the boy’s behaviour and school life. He also said he had earlier warned her about it but felt ignored.
The emotional father appealed to Nigerians for understanding and prayers, saying he still hopes for peace in the family and a positive change in his daughter’s life.
