JUST IN: I Don’t See Tinubu As Serious As You Are Presenting Him — Solomon Dalung

A chieftain of the ADC and former minister of sports, Solomon Dalung, has said he does not see President Bola Tinubu as serious as he is being portrayed ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on Mic on Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, Dalung was asked whether opposition forces are still making reasonable calculations given that Tinubu appears to be taking the election very seriously and preparing early, while the opposition seems less prepared.

He said Tinubu is underestimating the convulsion coming in his party. He said Tinubu has been shielded so much that he is living in his own world and being fed social media videos as evidence that he has the support of the people. Dalung said Tinubu’s support in Nigeria is not up to 14 percent.

When asked how he arrived at that figure and whether he conducted a poll, Dalung said the question should be on which of the states Tinubu can actually win. He said Lagos, Tinubu’s home state, will be a battle zone among the APC, NDC, ADC, and PDP. He emphasized that Tinubu was defeated there in 2023. He said it could happen again and worse than in 2023.

Dalung added that Tinubu does not learn lessons, arguing that if he did, he would know that allowing insecurity, hunger, and frustration to fester is like designing his own political grave as a politician.

In his words, “I don’t see Tinubu as serious as you are presenting him. President Tinubu in 2027 is the most unserious person with all his strategies. Because he is underestimating the convulsion that is coming in the party.”

“And they have shielded him so much that he’s living in a world of his own and being fed by videos produced from social media as support. Tinubu’s support, if I will be very sincere with you, is not up to 14% in Nigeria.”
