Why Is It That Atiku And Peter Obi Are Scared Of Primaries And Are Running Helter-Skelter?-Idawene

In a recent interview shared by News Central TV, Director General of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Oke Idawene, raised concerns over the recent political movements involving key opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Idawene questioned the consistency and internal democracy of opposition leaders, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former presidential candidate Peter Obi. According to him, “Why is it that former VP Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are scared of primaries and are running helter-skelter?” He argued that frequent defections and shifting political alliances could weaken public confidence in the opposition’s readiness to govern.

The political analyst maintained that credible primaries remain a cornerstone of democratic practice, stressing that aspirants must be willing to test their popularity within their parties rather than seek alternative platforms.

He added that internal party stability is critical in building a strong opposition capable of challenging the ruling government.
