According to a report by News Central TV, on Wednesday May 20, 2026, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Dr. Charles Oludari, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate national party officials over what he describes as highly corrupt screening processes following legislative primaries.
Oludari emphasized that because the APC faces very little viable competition from opposition parties in certain regions, the internal primary system effectively dictates who will govern.
This dynamic, he argues, places an absolute premium on transparent party democracy something he claims national leaders have utterly compromised.
“A lot of these candidates will not have opposition because the opposition is not well established and not always spread out,” Oludari explained. “So the best democracy in Nigeria will be the internal democracy of Ondo State.”
Oludari directly challenged APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka and National Chairman to come forward with a transparent, line-by-line explanation for why multiple high-performing local candidates were barred from contesting the primaries after building massive local support.
“So we need Felix Morka and the APC chairman, a lot of them, to come and tell us what were the criterias,” Oludari demanded. “Why were these people disqualified? What did they have or failed to have? Did was it that they didn’t pay their party dues, or they were not party member enough? We need to know the devil is in the details.”
The APC chieftain made it clear that he believes the closed-door screening disqualifications are being driven by financial corruption and bribery rather than legitimate vetting protocols.
He called for a full-scale criminal investigation into the screening committees.
“We need to blow this whistle so that the rump of the chicken will be exposed, because some there is some corruption going on somewhere, and EFCC might need to be involved,” Oludari declared vehemently. “People need to be investigated and, if found compromised, prosecuted and jailed.”
