Former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, on Saturday received the Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC) during a courtesy visit.
According to a media post by the National Defence College on Saturday, May 23, 2026, the visit was aimed at appreciating the elder statesman for his immense contributions to the establishment and continued growth of the institution.
During the visit, the Commandant expressed the College’s gratitude to General Babangida for his vision, foresight, and unwavering support towards the development of the NDC since its inception.
He noted that the former Head of State played a significant role in laying the foundation for the institution, which has continued to serve as Nigeria’s highest military training and strategic research centre.
The Commandant further commended Babangida’s commitment to national development and leadership, describing his contributions to military education and national security as remarkable and enduring.
General Babangida, in his remarks, appreciated the delegation for the visit and wished the institution continued success in its mandate of producing strategic military and civilian leaders for the nation.
