Abure: He Should Just Bury The Hatchet, Sheath The Sword, And Pay The 10m Naira Imposed On Him-Senator Nenadi Usman

The Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, has called on her estranged rival, Julius Abure, to accept the outcome of the Court of Appeal ruling that conclusively affirmed her leadership and move on from what she described as a prolonged and damaging legal confrontation.

Speaking in an interview aired by Arise News, Senator Usman reacted to the unanimous appellate court decision, which not only dismissed Abure’s legal challenge but also criticised his conduct as an abuse of court process, imposing a ten-million-naira cost against him.

Usman, whose leadership has now been upheld by both the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal, urged her opponent to draw a line under the dispute and redirect his energy toward rebuilding the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“He should just bury the hatchet, sheath the sword, pay the 10 million naira imposed on him and then com,” she said.

The chairman disclosed that ward congresses were already underway across the country, with a national convention scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja, where substantive party leadership is expected to emerge.

Senator Usman expressed confidence that reconciliation remained achievable, noting that an overwhelming majority within the party were now rallying behind the goal of a unified Labour Party.
