Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has assured 806 newly deployed National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members of their safety throughout their one-year mandatory service in the state.
Idris gave the assurance on Thursday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch C Stream II corps members at the NYSC temporary orientation camp in Basaura, Jega Local Government Area.
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Nura Fingilla, said his administration would continue to work with security agencies to protect residents and corps members.
He said Kebbi had continued to enjoy relative peace despite security challenges in parts of the country, attributing this to collaboration between the government, security agencies, traditional institutions and community leaders.
Idris urged the corps members to remain security-conscious, obey camp regulations and the laws of the land, and report suspicious movements to the appropriate authorities.
