Former White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, has reacted to her removal from the position by United States President Donald Trump, declaring that her commitment to the president and his administration remains unchanged.
Wiles disclosed this in a farewell message on X following Trump’s decision to replace her with Stephen Miller after the Republican Party’s defeat in the midterm elections.
In a statement, Wiles confirmed that Friday was her last day as White House Chief of Staff, describing her time serving under Trump as the greatest honour of her lifetime.
She expressed pride in the achievements of the Trump administration, particularly in border security, tax cuts, economic growth and the implementation of the president’s America First agenda.
“Today is my last day as White House Chief of Staff.
“Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honour of a lifetime. I’m so proud to have been a part of what we’ve accomplished together, from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America first.
“More than anything, I’m grateful for the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will,” she said.
Her reaction comes after Trump announced that Miller would take over as White House Chief of Staff, while Wiles would be reassigned to another role focused on political operations.
The leadership change comes amid political fallout from the Republican Party’s poor performance in the midterm elections.
DAILY POST reports that the Republicans lost control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate to the Democrats.
Former US President Barack Obama linked the Republican defeat to Trump’s alleged divisive politics.
