JUST IN: I Walked To Ilejemeje And saw The Reason Why People Can Easily Be Picked, No Police Station-Oluyede

Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, has voiced concerns about deteriorating security conditions in certain parts of the state, linking the risks faced by some communities to insufficient policing infrastructure.

In an interview with Arise News, Oluyede shared insights from his visit to communities within the Ilejemeje Local Government Area, where he identified significant security shortcomings that could leave residents vulnerable to crimes such as kidnapping and banditry.

He described witnessing a near-complete lack of operational security facilities and personnel during his tour. According to Oluyede, the absence of staffed police posts and stations has created a vacuum that emboldens criminal elements and leaves local populations unprotected.

“I walked into Ilejemeje and saw exactly why people there are easy targets. There are no manned police posts, no functional stations,” he stated.

Oluyede emphasized that improving grassroots security infrastructure should be a key government priority, especially in rural areas where response times are often slow due to limited resources and presence. He stressed that without visible law enforcement, community safety cannot be assured, and areas without police stations or officers remain at higher risk of attacks and other criminal acts.

Addressing these gaps, he argued, demands targeted investment in security facilities and a more strategic deployment of personnel across remote regions.
