Iran has strongly condemned what it describes as recent United States military attacks on an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and a telecommunications facility on Qeshm Island, accusing Washington of violating existing ceasefire understandings and breaching international law.
In a statement issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Tehran alleged that the operations were carried out with support from regional allies of the United States, specifically Kuwait and Bahrain.
According to Times of Israel, Iranian officials claimed that both countries allowed their territory, facilities, and infrastructure to be used in ways that assisted American military actions against Iran.
According to the ministry, Kuwait and Bahrain therefore bear what it called “direct and clear responsibility” for the attacks.
The statement argued that any nation that provides logistical, operational, or territorial support for military operations against Iran shares accountability for the consequences of those actions.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region following reports of military exchanges involving US forces and Iranian-linked targets.
Tehran maintains that the strikes on the tanker and telecommunications tower represent a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability and undermines efforts to maintain peace.
Iran further emphasized that it reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and national interests under international law.
The Foreign Ministry warned that the country would use all available means to respond to any future attacks and would hold accountable those it believes are involved in facilitating hostile actions.
The statement also suggested that any future military operation launched against Iran from foreign territory could result in retaliatory measures directed at the source of the attack.
While no immediate response was announced, Iranian authorities stressed that they would closely monitor developments and act as they deem necessary to protect the country’s security and territorial integrity.
The accusations add another layer of tension to an already volatile situation in the Gulf, raising concerns about the possibility of further regional escalation.
