BREAKING: Tinubu’s Daughter Accuses APC Groups of Manipulating Lagos Primaries

According to report by Vanguard on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the crisis within the Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) escalated on Wednesday as the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, openly demanded the scrapping of two dominant party faction; the Justice Forum and the Mandate Movement, accusing them of manipulating party primaries.

Tinubu-Ojo, who is the daughter of President Bola Tinubu, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the conduct of recent House of Representatives primaries in Mushin Constituency I, Agege Constituency II, and Ojokoro.

She alleged that duly elected aspirants were denied victory, claiming their mandates were unlawfully transferred to individuals who did not win at the polls.

Speaking at a weekly gathering of market leaders and stakeholders at her office in Alausa, Ikeja, she condemned what she described as internal political interference and warned against any effort to undermine the democratic choices of party members.

She argued that such practices weaken trust and discourage loyalty within the party structure.

She further criticized the perceived neglect of market women by political office holders despite their longstanding contributions to the APC’s electoral successes in Lagos State.

According to her, several aspirants including Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo, Seye Oladejo, and Olotu Emmanuel Ojo were clearly victorious in their constituencies but were allegedly sidelined through post-primary adjustments.

Tinubu-Ojo called on APC leadership at both state and national levels to urgently investigate the disputed primaries before final ratification of results, warning that failure to address the issue could deepen internal divisions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She also reaffirmed the support of Lagos market women for the governorship ambition of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates, while insisting that traders deserve greater recognition and political appointments in return for their support.

Meanwhile, dissatisfied party members in Mushin threatened mass protests if the alleged injustice involving Seye Oladejo was not corrected.

They accused factional leaders of imposing candidates and weakening internal democracy within the APC.
