Peter Obi Was At An Opposition Summit In Ibadan, We Knew They Had Nothing To Offer – Sowore

Omoyele Sowore, a respected human rights activist and former presidential aspirant has taken to his official X handle to react after the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi announced his departure from the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X account on Sunday May 3rd, 2026 he pointed out that his departure became known when the party held an opposition summit in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The opposition summit, which had several political heavyweights including former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, governor Seyi Makinde in attendance was widely viewed as a strategic meeting towards wrestling power off the ruling APC in 2027.

However, according to Omoyele Sowore, during the summit, it became plain that they had nothing to offer, as evident in the recent departure of the former governor of Anambra State from the African Democratic Congress.
