Nigeria vs Madagascar: Eric Chelle Names Super Eagles Starting XI for AFCON Qualifier

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named his starting lineup for Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali returns to the starting XI after being out of international action for several months.

Nigeria’s defensive line features a blend of experience and physical strength, with Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi partnering in central defence.

Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi will operate as the full-backs as the Super Eagles look to maintain a solid defensive shape while providing support in attack.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi will anchor the team and provide defensive cover, allowing Alex Iwobi to operate further forward and influence Nigeria’s attacking play.

The Super Eagles’ attack will be led by Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, who are expected to provide pace, creativity and a direct threat from the wings.

Akor Adams and George Ilenikhena will form the attacking partnership as Nigeria look to put pressure on the Madagascar defence and secure a positive result in the AFCON qualifier.

Chelle has also named a strong bench, with players such as Taiwo Awoniyi, Moses Simon, Frank Onyeka, Tolu Arokodare and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye available as options during the match.
