There have been diverse reactions among social media users after Lauretta Onochie, a Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC defended the party’s 2027 presidential flag-bearer, Atiku Abubakar after he was described as Kachalla by Babachir Lawal.
According to the statements which were shared on her official X handle, she pointed out that a movement had been formed to fully spread the message meant to damage the reputation of Atiku Abubakar.
The 2027 ADC presidential flag-bearer, it can be recalled, had been on the spotlight after Babachir Lawal, a former secretary to the federal government called him a Kachalla, a name associated with bandit leaders.
However, while the description triggered massive public reactions, Lauretta Onochie, in her statements, insisted that no amount of name-calling would derail the opposition’s momentum. According to her, the camp remains unfazed by attacks from former allies.
